| Chart Board Info Charts are to be hung on a board so they can be seen easily and stored safely. This board can be made in about 10 minutes. WOOD The board can be made out of 1/4 inch ply wood stained dark or masonite. Whatever you use should be fairly thin to keep the board light in weight. As an extra addition, a sheet of plastic can be placed on the back of the board which can be used with dry erase markers. This makes the board even more usable. The board should be used on an easel when teaching a song so it can be seen by everyone. We use the charts whether the children know the song or not. They usually sing better because they love looking at the charts. HOLES Holes in the charts can be punched with a genealogy punch which leaves a 1/4 inch larger hole, larger than a regular punch and just the right size for the bolt. Reinforce holes in some way (with masking tape or with tape after you have the chart laminated) so charts won't tear. DRILL, NUTS & BOLTS Drill holes in the board. Put a 4" long toggle bolt (1/14 X 4") thru holes. Put a fend washer over the bolt and tighten with a hexagon nut. An extra board or two is nice to have for storage in a closet. |
